Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said he harshly criticized the work of governors in assessing the consequences of the hurricane.

According to the country's president, regional leaders responded unsatisfactorily to the situation in the first days after the natural disaster.

Lukashenko noted: "I did not see an adequate reaction. I saw this and therefore began to beat up the responsible persons," as reported by the BelTA publication.

It is emphasized that the President of Belarus made this information public at a meeting with regional leaders.

The Belarusian leader noted that all high-level officials should “learn a lesson” from the current situation.

In addition, Lukashenko emphasized that some citizens are helping to clear away the rubble, but at the same time others are waiting for a reaction from the authorities.

The President of Belarus stressed: “In any case, I will always check the work of authorized leaders.”
