The Russian company Eurosafe LT, a supplier of safes to the Lithuanian army, has been declared unreliable.
Safes supplied by Eurosafe LT to the Lithuanian army and other government institutions will have to be replaced.
Safes from the Russian company, as the portal bernardinai.lt found out, are used by military units and government organizations to store classified information.
The decision to include Eurosafe LT in the list of unreliable suppliers was made after receiving the conclusion of the Second Department of the Operational Service.
According to the Minister of National Defence Laurynas Kaščiūnas, legal grounds have been obtained for the exclusion of Eurosafe LT from public procurement procedures in the current tenders.
In addition, the company was instructed to replace the safes already supplied by the company with others that would adequately protect classified information.
It is reported that the Eurosafe LT safes were purchased by the Special Purpose Battalion, the Military Medical Service. In addition, the equipment was purchased from the company by the Mobilization Department, the Government Office, and the Prosecutor General's Office.
The publication emphasizes that Eurosafe LT is managed by Russian citizens who also hold Polish and Romanian citizenship, respectively.
