The International Olympic Committee has apologised for "certain moments" at the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics.
This came after viewers expressed dissatisfaction with some scenes of the show.
Viewers were particularly outraged by the parody of Leonardo da Vinci's "The Last Supper" featuring representatives of non-traditional sexual orientation.
The committee's apology was published on the social network X (formerly Twitter, banned in the Russian Federation).
The opening ceremony took place on July 26 and attracted attention for a parody that outraged many.
The Games' organizing committee quickly stated that it did not mean to offend anyone.
They stressed that their goal was to promote tolerance and community.
Olympic communications director Anne Descamps also publicly apologized to those whose feelings were hurt.
