Some Turkish travel agencies in Cappadocia take tourists to non-existent museums and historical sites.

Instead of real cultural heritage sites, they are shown ordinary buildings and village houses.

Some tourists are taken to lemon storage warehouses, passing it off as a visit to the “Underground City,” writes Turizm Güncel .

On other occasions, during tours they are shown village houses in Chardak.

Most tourists are usually unfamiliar with the region and do not ask questions about tours.

Tourists who came to admire the beauty of Cappadocia returned home unaware of the fraud.

It turned out that travel agencies were selling them tours below their cost in order to show them non-existent museums and historical sites.

Travel agencies and guides are outraged that this deception is damaging Turkey's reputation and could lead to lost revenue for the country.
