Daisy Link has opened up about how she became pregnant in an American prison.

Two inmates at Turner Guilford Knight Prison in West Miami-Dade who had never met each other have become parents.

The inmates were housed on different floors of the facility, but communicated through a ventilation shaft, WSVN reported.

A woman is serving time awaiting trial on second-degree murder charges after police found she was holding a gun after shooting her boyfriend in the leg, killing him.

The American woman had been in prison for more than two years, but in June she gave birth to a girl.

Her mother contacted the authorities with a request to find out why such a situation could have occurred in the prison.

As a result of the investigation, it was established that the child's father is an inmate of the same prison.

The woman confirmed that she had never met the father of her child, and that conception occurred “through ventilation.”

Communication between the two prisoners began after long conversations with each other through a ventilation shaft located in the wall of one of the cells.

The couple came up with a plan to conceive a child, and it worked.

The man sent his sperm to his girlfriend every day in plastic bags, dropping them through the ventilation.
The woman injected it inside with a plastic syringe that she received at the medical center.

According to the prisoner, it took her only a few tries to get pregnant.

Dr. Fernando Ackerman, medical director of the Fertility Center of Miami, said the chances of a successful pregnancy are slim but not impossible.

He also added that this is a completely new case and nothing like this has happened before.
