Two hundred firefighters have been working for more than 30 hours at the warehouse of a large German concern.
A massive fire is raging at a ThyssenKrupp facility near the town of Völklingen in southwestern Germany.
About 200 firefighters and dozens of pieces of equipment have been deployed to extinguish the fire at the warehouse of a leading German steel manufacturer, TASS reports.
The fire is so strong that it can't be controlled for more than a day. Part of the roof and walls have collapsed.
Smoke from the fire reached the city of Saarbrücken, which is located 15 km from the site of the emergency.
Firefighters are making every effort to localize the fire, but new sources of fire in plastic parts are appearing, a representative of the fire service told the publication.
The warehouse was adapted for storing plastics and solar panels.
The cause of the fire has yet to be determined, but for now firefighters are reassuring worried locals that the flames will not reach private buildings.
