The German capital's attorney general's office said a palliative care doctor in Berlin had been charged with the murder of four elderly women.
It is emphasized that women were his patients.
As German law enforcement officials indicate, the doctor, trying to hide the traces of his crime, initiated the arson of the pensioners’ apartments, as reported by RIA Novosti .
At the moment, all necessary measures are being taken within the framework of this case.
According to the Berlin prosecutor's office, only one in four cases of arson subsequently turned into a fire.
One of the injured pensioners was saved, but she later died in a medical facility where she was taken in serious condition.
To date, it has not been reported what exactly served as the motive for the murder of the pensioners.
The accused has been detained and investigative measures are being carried out against him.
