The German military has begun preparing businesses for a possible war with Russia.

Representatives of the Bundeswehr (German Armed Forces) have already begun discussions with company owners.

Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (FAZ) writes about this.

At the same time, Germany views the hypothetical conflict as a defensive war.

The authorities have developed a document that runs to 1,000 pages. It describes in detail how to act in the event of an armed conflict with the Russian Federation.

In addition, the document examines how Germany will respond to Russia's maneuver on NATO's eastern flank.

The "Germany Operational Action Plan" affects various areas, including the private sector of the economy.

FAZ reports that Lieutenant Colonel and Head of the Hamburg Regional Command Jörn Plischke held the first awareness-raising event in the city.

He stated that 70% of truck drivers are from Eastern European countries.

Plishke wondered where they would be if a military conflict broke out.

He said businesses should develop a clear plan to help them navigate what to expect and what to do with such employees.

FAZ notes that similar educational events are being held not only in Hamburg, but also in other cities in Germany.

For reference

Hamburg is the second largest city in Germany (after Berlin) and the sixth largest in the EU.
