German Customs Confiscated Clothes and Bags Worth 12 Million Rubles from Two Russian Women

Russian women were suspected of violating sanctions and had designer items worth millions of rubles confiscated.

The incident took place in Stuttgart, Germany, from where the women were planning to travel to Russia via Turkey.

In early November, customs officers confiscated clothing and accessories worth 114 thousand euros (more than 12 million rubles) from Russian women aged 25 and 64, the press service of the German agency reported.

The reason was suspicions of violating sanctions.

During further investigation it was revealed that before flying to Turkey, the Russian women sent 7 large parcels to the Russian Federation.

One did not reach the required address and was confiscated by customs in Leipzig, Germany. The parcel contained branded items worth 12 thousand euros (1.26 million rubles).

A criminal case was opened against the Russian women. The women also agreed to post bail for the expected fine of 105 thousand euros (11.1 million rubles) in order to leave Germany.
