Leading specialist of the Phobos weather center Evgeny Tishkovets reported that radiation from Chernobyl could reach Poland.

It is emphasized that currently there are forest fires in the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant exclusion zone.

It also indicates that the area of the fire is approximately 20 hectares.

In his official Telegram channel, Tishkovets commented: “The burning of forest litter causes a deterioration in air quality.”

The meteorologist added that if radiation were to be released into the lower layers of the earth's atmosphere in Chernobyl, radioactive particles would quickly spread on the wind.

An alarming forecast

The weather forecaster also noted that the above-mentioned substances will appear on the territory of Poland within a day on average.

The head of the Kyiv regional military administration, Ruslan Kravchenko, previously spoke out regarding this situation.

According to Kravchenko, the peat bogs in the Brovarsky district of the Kyiv region are predominantly burning, which harms the air composition and provokes the appearance of smog.
