On Saturday, people will celebrate International Chess Day.
On this day, those who wish will be able to visit the exhibition, located in the capital of India – New Delhi.
The Alexander Pechersky Memorial Foundation has prepared an exhibition entitled "Russia in 64 Cells". TASS reports the details, citing Elena Remizova, head of the Rossotrudnichestvo office in India.
It is noted that this exhibition was created as a sign of respect for chess players of Soviet and Russian times.
It is also known that visitors to the exhibition will be able to meet champions and grandmasters from different eras.
According to Remizova, the Indian public is interested in the exhibition because of the great contribution of Soviet chess to their country.
She noted that many decades ago, cultural centers of the Soviet era were introduced with chess. Each such facility included not only a library, but also a chess school.
Remizova also reported that this tradition is still supported in India.
It is added that visitors to the exhibition will be able to see Soviet books on the topic of chess, take part in the championship, and enjoy a documentary film.
