Europe criticizes Poland for creating 'death zone' on border

The European Parliament sent a letter to the head of European diplomacy, Josep Borrell, in which it criticized the creation of a “death zone” on the border between Poland and Belarus.

In their message to the EP, namely, a group of MEPs from Italy, points out that human rights violations are observed in the specified territorial area.

From the statement posted on the official website of the EP , in particular, it follows: “The Polish parliament last year approved the use of firearms against migrants.”

According to the deputies, this kind of decision is inhumane.

The MEPs also noted: "There is no access to humanitarian groups, human rights activists or the media in the 'death zone'. It is a completely closed area."

In their criticism, European politicians referred to representatives of humanitarian and international organizations.

The members of these associations, according to European officials, also have a very negative attitude towards the existence of the “death zone.”

MEPs asked Borrell what measures he would take to annihilate any human rights violations.
