Football referees stole a road sign while drunk and went shopping.

Two Polish referees have been disqualified by UEFA following a controversial incident.

Referees from Poland will not officiate European Cup matches until the end of June 2025, writes Polskie Radio 24 .

The European Federation has severely punished the referees for the incident on August 6.

In the third round of the Champions League qualifying round in Lublin, referees Frankowski and Musial, while intoxicated, stole a road sign.

The suspension is expected to last a year, although judges could return to work after five months.

Both judges issued public statements for their behavior shortly after the drunken outburst.

They stressed that they did not show aggression towards the police during the arrest.

Police officers stopped two drunk men who were walking along a road with a road sign.

The body for control, ethics and discipline said the Polish referees were suspended for violating the basic rules of conduct and damaging the reputation of the federation.
