Belarus criticizes EU sanctions against country's media executives

The Ministry of Information of Belarus commented on the introduction of sanctions by the European Union against some republican media outlets.

In particular, we are talking about the BelTa news agency and the Belarus Today publishing house.

The Republican department criticized the European Union’s decision, as reported by TASS .

The Belarusian Ministry of Information noted: “Europe acted illegitimately by introducing its restrictions.”

Minsk's reaction

According to the agency, the Council of the European Union introduced restrictive measures that were not motivated or supported by any evidence.

The restrictions extend to the heads of the largest state media outlets in Belarus.

In addition, certain Belarusian journalists were subject to sanctions.

As the Ministry of Information of Belarus noted, the West, with its actions, indicated the absence of democracy in its countries.
