A New Mexico jury has awarded a man $412 million in a lawsuit against a men's health clinic.
Medical negligence due to unsuccessful injections led to irreversible damage to the patient's health.
An American man went to a medical center to get testosterone replacement therapy, ABC News emphasizes. However, doctors mistakenly diagnosed him with erectile dysfunction and offered him a course of treatment for $5,000.
The patient did the treatment, which included testosterone injections, at home. However, the treatment did not help, and the man returned to the clinic.
Doctors suggested continuing the injections, but complications arose, after which the man required urgent surgery.
The plaintiff's lawyers said he was now impotent and accused the clinic of medical negligence.
One lawyer noted that medical institutions must put the well-being of patients above profits.
A clinic spokesman said the center had strict safety standards but declined to comment on the details of the case.
