No one ever questions the fact that vegetables eaten with the skin must be thoroughly washed.

However, in the case of banana and kiwi, a logical question may arise: why do this if the peel will go to waste anyway?

It's time to decide once and for all whether to wash a banana.

Why is it necessary to wash bananas?

Even though we eat bananas without the peel, we still need to wash them.

This is because no one can guarantee that the fruit was grown without the use of pesticides that are dangerous to the human body.

Dirt and bacteria that settle on the surface of the fruit can easily end up in the edible pulp. The way they are served, when the fruit is cut into circles with the peel on, is especially dangerous.

So even foods with thicker skins and peels can be dangerous if not washed before eating.
