Absolutely anyone can experience heartburn.

It is good when heartburn appears after eating certain foods. In this case, you can easily fight heartburn by eliminating foods that irritate the stomach. But it happens that the unpleasant sensation can arise spontaneously, when no one expects it.

Most often, this is the cause of chronic diseases.

Eat a heavy meal before bed

The most common cause is a heavy meal shortly before bedtime. If you eat a vegetable salad or cottage cheese, you are unlikely to be bothered by heartburn. But if you eat a lot of heavy and spicy food, then prepare for the worst.

In such cases, heartburn wakes you up at night or in the morning, preventing you from getting a good night's sleep on the weekend or before work.

The stomach thus expresses protest, because having eaten a big meal before going to bed, you force the digestive system to work tirelessly throughout the night. In such cases, in addition to burning, a person may also experience vomiting.

Gastritis

One of the most common causes is gastritis. This disease is present in the arsenal of every second inhabitant of the earth, for some it does not manifest itself in any way, and for others it does not allow them to live in peace.

With gastritis, you should exclude spicy, fatty and very salty food. Do not eat too hot or too cold dishes. In general, any extremes are prohibited. For patients with gastritis, heartburn is not the worst sensation.

Intestinal obstruction

A rather serious disease, which consists of the fact that food cannot pass into the intestines for a long time.

Being in the stomach for a long time, it begins to rot and ferment, hence belching and bad breath, which occurs with heartburn.

How to fight heartburn

Eat on time

Train yourself to eat on time. Make sure you eat something in the morning, don't get out of bed and run to work straight away.

You can't skip a single meal, otherwise your stomach will constantly be under stress, and then you're guaranteed to get heartburn.

Study your diet

Pay attention to which foods you eat that cause a burning sensation; try to avoid these foods in the future.

If you are constantly worried, you should reduce spicy and salty foods from your diet. You should not throw dry cookies or any bakery products into an empty stomach. It is advisable to drink a glass of water 30 minutes before each meal.

Heartburn doesn't go away

If heartburn starts to appear regularly, accompanied by severe pain in the stomach, then you should definitely consult a doctor. Do not self-medicate, this can only worsen the situation.
