Experts have discovered how seasonal berries can influence the state of human memory.

In particular, the benefits of strawberries for human cognitive functions have been proven.

The corresponding findings were published in the journal Nutrients .

It is noted that scientists examined 30 volunteers aged 50 to 65. All of them were overweight.

All subjects were divided into 2 focus groups. The first received powder from eight crushed freeze-dried strawberries with food. The second at the same time received a placebo of a similar type.

At the end of the 12-week experiment, all subjects were invited to take a cognitive ability test.

It turned out that people who ate strawberries had improved memory and a reduced tendency towards depression.

The scientists linked the results to the berry's content of antioxidants called anthocyanins, which prevent the development of dementia and other cognitive disorders.

Olive oil has previously been reported to improve cognitive function.
