Russians warned about the harmful effects of alcoholic drinks on the intestines
Alcohol abuse has a negative impact on all body systems.
However, alcohol has a truly destructive effect on the intestines.
This is the warning that gastroenterologist at SM-Clinic Evgeniya Melnikova issued to Russians in a conversation with the Gazeta.Ru portal.
The expert reminded us of the dangers of regular alcohol consumption, especially when it comes to large doses of alcohol.
This has a particularly strong effect on the intestines, where a whole cascade of negative reactions begins to occur.
The main reason is that the intestines are involved in the absorption of alcohol, which inevitably causes inflammatory reactions.
According to Melnikova, those who abuse alcohol face the following problems:
- vascular spasm;
- insufficient blood supply;
- an increase in the number of pathogenic bacteria and a decrease in the number of beneficial bacteria;
- peristalsis disorder;
- pain syndrome.
And when the bacteria in the stomach digest alcohol, they release toxic acetaldehyde, which ultimately causes cirrhosis of the liver.
