Mono-diets, which involve eating one or two products, should not be used for a long time. RIA Novosti reports details with reference to Galina Volkova, a nutritionist at the Odintsovo Regional Hospital.

It is noted that during a mono-diet, a person consumes a minimum amount of calories. However, to maintain youth and health, at least 900 calories are needed every day.

It is also known that a person needs to eat carbohydrates, fats, proteins, but a mono-diet involves limiting one of the three substances.

According to the doctor, intermittent fasting should not be used either. In the long term, it can harm the body.

The nutritionist added that long breaks between meals cause problems with emptying the bladder. In the future, this can lead to gallstone disease.
