Russian Health Minister Mikhail Murashko commented on measures to promote life expectancy.
He stated that this problem can be solved by improving medical services and a comprehensive approach to public health.
He also explained that medical measures alone will not cope with the problem, RIA Novosti writes.
An important step is for the population to give up alcohol and cigarettes.
The minister stressed that the abuse of these substances undermines health and shortens life.
He also pointed out the gap in life expectancy between regions.
Murashko summed up that in order to achieve the goal of 78 years by 2030, special attention will be paid to work in regions where life expectancy is lower.
To achieve the set goals, a comprehensive approach by the state and society is necessary.
