Since the beginning of 2024, about 6 thousand newborns have been screened in the Moscow region. TASS reports the details with reference to the press service of the Moscow Region Ministry of Health and Deputy Prime Minister Svetlana Strigunkova.
It is noted that the number of diseases for which newborns are tested is 36 since the beginning of 2023. Before that, the list included testing for 5 genetic diseases.

According to the press service, during the examination, a specialist takes blood from the newborn's heel.
