A lecturer at the Department of Fundamental Medical Disciplines of the Medical Faculty of the State University of Education warned Russians about the dangers of a drink popular in the cold season.

As the doctor emphasized, coffee with added alcohol poses a double danger to the body.

Alexander Umnov addressed Izvestia with this warning.

He recalled that in winter people often add alcoholic drinks to coffee. This can be either strong alcohol or various liqueurs.

This combination is actually harmful to the human body. Mixing caffeine and ethanol leads to a powerful spasm of blood vessels. This, in turn, can cause myocardial infarction and other heart problems.

The specialist also reminded that alcohol depresses the nervous system. And it is fraught with the development of psychoses and neuroses.

Such a combo increases the risk of stomach ulcers, Umnov concluded.

Previously, we talked about what to snack on with alcohol to minimize its harm.
