Oncological diseases, which arise for various reasons, are common in the country.
We will talk about tumors of genetic origin.
As TASS reports, citing the chief oncologist of the Russian Ministry of Health, Ivan Stilidi, 5-10% of malignant tumors arise due to genetics.
It is noted that such neoplasms are associated with mutations that are inherited.
According to Stilidi, the most common neoplasms in the Russian Federation are lung cancer, colorectal cancer and breast cancer. They account for 50% of all malignant diseases.
The expert noted that tumors can form not only due to heredity, but also due to smoking, excess weight, and the presence of metabolic syndrome.
In addition, the occurrence of cancer can be influenced by ionizing radiation, increased insolation, and environmental pollution.
Tumors can also arise due to infectious agents, including the papilloma virus, hepatitis C and B.
