It is noted that excess weight occurs in children for various reasons, including overeating and a sedentary lifestyle.
According to Basova, to prevent unpleasant situations, it is important to introduce children to the basics of healthy eating. Children should also understand why it is important to limit themselves in food.
She noted that a food diary can help a child analyze the food eaten. It should record all the food a person ate during the day. The amount and calories should be indicated next to the food.
It is added that an endocrinologist or nutritionist can help with keeping a diary.
