A doctor has issued a warning to Russians regarding medications that are prescribed for high blood pressure.

These drugs have serious side effects, such as causing gout.

The expert expressed this opinion on the air of the program “About the most important things” on the channel “Russia 1”, which is available on the platform “ Smotrim ”.

According to the doctor, pills that lower blood pressure almost always contain diuretics.

And their abundance can lead to the development of gout in a person. This disease is associated with the accumulation of uric acid in the body, which ultimately leads to deposits in the joints and kidneys.

To prevent this from happening, the expert advised hypertensive patients to take calcium channel blockers for gout. According to him, such a measure will reduce the level of uric acid in the body.
