Dr Poonam Desai from the UK has warned of the risks of drinking coffee at certain times of the day.
Although coffee has many health benefits, drinking it may be associated with some health risks.
Desai has called on her personal blog to not drink coffee after a certain point in the day.
The doctor explained that she never drinks caffeine after noon.
She explained this by the fact that the half-life of caffeine reaches 5-6 hours.
If caffeine remains in your system before bed, it can interfere with your ability to fall asleep or stay asleep.
The doctor advised avoiding any caffeinated drinks after 12 noon.
Desai also reminded that sleep deprivation is associated with chronic health problems.
The doctor backed up her advice with research from scientists who found that drinking the equivalent of a double espresso a few hours before bed will set your biological clock back almost an hour.
Dr. Desai's warning has become part of a list of habits to avoid to stay healthy for years to come.
