Biologists from the University of Pennsylvania (USA) have talked about how much diet influences human aging.
According to experts, restricting food consumption affects the length of telomeres, which are a marker of cellular aging.
The scientists published the results of their research in the scientific journal Science Daily .
The article states: "We found that longer telomeres are a sign of younger age."
Researchers conducted an experiment that showed that cutting calories did not cause telomeres to shorten.
On the contrary, this process slowed down significantly.
The biologists emphasized: "We found a surprising pattern. People on the diet experienced a slowdown in telomere loss."
It was previously reported that it is possible to drink coffee and tea instead of water .
