Head of the Children's Infectious Diseases Department of the Mytishchi Hospital Raisa Popova warned about the dangers of calluses.

She said that a common callus can cause erysipelas, Izvestia writes.

People with diabetes, chronic dermatoses, tonsillitis and otitis are especially at risk of getting sick.

Symptoms of erysipelas include fever, chills, and nausea for more than three days.

Patients may also experience increased sweating.

On the fourth day, a pink spot appears on the legs, which turns red and swells as it grows.

To avoid such situations, it is important to follow the rules of personal hygiene and keep your skin clean.

The doctor advises using soap after visiting a bathhouse, sauna, swimming pool and public water bodies.

The callus should not be punctured, touched with dirty hands, or worn in uncomfortable shoes. The affected area can be wiped with alcohol wipes, but without fanaticism.
