Doctors provided assistance to a woman with sepsis caused by an intrauterine device that remained in her body.
The Moscow Agency reports details with reference to the press service of the Moscow Region Ministry of Health and the head of the gynecology department of hospital No. 3 of the Lyubertsy Regional Hospital, Anna Panasenko.
It is noted that a woman was admitted to one of the Moscow region hospitals. She complained of low blood pressure and abdominal pain.
It is also known that doctors had to examine the patient, as a result of which they discovered that she had sepsis.
According to the press service, the cause of the disease was an intrauterine device installed about 10 years ago.
They also noted that the lack of treatment could have led to kidney problems, but the doctors managed to do it in time.
Panasenko added that the woman underwent surgery, the IUD and the uterus with pus were removed.
