The Moscow Agency reports details with reference to the press service of the regional Ministry of Health and the head of the ENT department of branch No. 2 of the Balashikha hospital, Alexey Agafonov.
It is noted that a 5-year-old girl was admitted to the hospital. She complained of pus discharge from her nose and headache. She also had swelling of the eye.
It is also known that the mother and father treated the child for several days, but it turned out to be useless.
According to Agafonov, inflammation in the paranasal sinuses and lack of medical care led to complications. Pus got into the cavity where the eye was located. This led to compression of the optic nerve.
He noted that thanks to the efforts of specialists, the girl was helped. Otherwise, she could have lost her sight.
It is added that the child is currently feeling well.
