Sometimes gardeners are faced with the fact that the soil in the greenhouse begins to turn green.
Ultimately, this can lead to the soil becoming acidic.
Agronomist Anastasia Kovrizhnykh spoke about the causes and solutions to this problem.
The soil may turn green for several reasons. In particular, this may be influenced by a sufficiently high level of humidity of both the soil itself and the air.
In addition, greenery may appear if the soil is very dense.
Acidic soil can also be the cause of its appearance.
To solve this problem, you can replace the soil in the greenhouse.
However, not all summer residents have such an opportunity. Therefore, some other effective methods can be used.
It is important to increase soil fertility and make it permeable to water.
In addition, the soil can be treated with special means. For this, phytosporin, a solution of Bordeaux mixture or other preparations are suitable.
It is also important to periodically loosen the soil throughout the season and not neglect ventilation.
In the autumn after harvesting, it is worth removing the soil on which moss has appeared. Then compost or humus must be added to the soil.
This will allow the soil to be enriched with essential substances, improving its fertility.
