Debunking the myth
Kovrizhnykh explained: “Many summer residents mistakenly believe that this type of wrapping oversaturates tomatoes with copper.”
In fact, according to the expert, this is not the case. Copper, when in contact with tomato stems, does not harm them, but, on the contrary, serves as an excellent fungicide.
Copper is able to "scare away" harmful fungus. In turn, Bordeaux mixture, which has this element as its basis, has been effectively used in the household since the century before last.
