White bloom on grapes: how to save the harvest from disaster

Sometimes grapes may be affected by a white coating.
Moreover, it can appear both on leaves and on fruits.

Reasons
White plaque on grapes is caused by fungal diseases:
- false powdery mildew, which is also called mildew and appears on the back of leaves;
- powdery mildew (oidium), which affects the entire bush;
- Alternaria, which is characterized by olive-colored mold.
It is necessary to start fighting them at the very beginning of the disease, otherwise the taste of the fruit will be distorted, and the disease itself can spread to other plants in the garden.
How to get rid of fungus
The first step is to promptly remove all parts of the affected plant before the disease spreads further.
Preparations with chalk are excellent against oidium and mildew. And chemical preparations are most effective against alternaria.
Another necessary step is to reduce soil moisture. For this purpose, the top fertile soil layer is removed and the earth is sprinkled with sand.
