What to do to prevent apples from becoming wormy: simple ways to save the harvest
Growing an apple tree is only half the battle, since it is also necessary to get a good harvest from it.
And if you pick wormy fruits from your trees year after year, then it’s time to do something about it.

Chemical treatment
Trees must be treated in May, when the temperature is not lower than 10 degrees Celsius. Treatment is not allowed when fruits begin to appear on the tree, since toxic substances can penetrate them.
The preparations should be used strictly according to the instructions so as not to harm the apple tree itself.
If you don't like chemicals, you can try to deal with codling moths using sweet traps.
To do this, just pour sweet apple compote into jars and place the containers throughout the garden. The pests will flock to them and drown in the drink.
Another method is a special decoction based on substances that codling moths fear. These ingredients include:
wormwood, yarrow, burdock, chamomile, milkweed and tomato tops;
tobacco;
camphor alcohol.
All you need to do is make decoctions based on these substances and spray the apple tree.
