When ants appear in a garden plot, many people immediately rush to get rid of them.
However, do small insects really cause so much harm to the area?

Do you need to get rid of ants?
In fact, ants help increase the concentration of potassium and phosphorus in the soil. Not to mention that they loosen the soil to a depth of 1.5 meters.
However, insects still cause harm to the area and, in particular, to the plants growing on it.
Therefore, it is not necessary to completely exterminate the ant population, but to resort to methods that allow you to control their numbers.
Such measures include:
- watering the nests with water with the addition of laundry soap;
- whitewashing trees;
- organization of insect baits with a strong smell;
- laying foil around trees.
All these methods are gentle and allow ants to survive on the site, but at the same time do not allow them to reproduce rapidly.
