Even if snow has already fallen, this is not a reason to stop pre-winter planting.

This is the opinion of some summer residents who sow plants in the winter and get an even better harvest.

The seeds can be scattered directly onto the snow. When spring comes, they will seep into the soil with moisture and germinate.

And the list of crops that can be sown before winter is not so small.

Among vegetables and greens, these are radishes, carrots, basil, dill, parsley, cabbage and leaf lettuce, spinach, sorrel, rhubarb. You can also include cilantro, horseradish, turnip, daikon, celery in this list.

During this period, it is permissible to sow annuals, especially those that take a long time to think before blooming in the summer.

For example, these are calendula, cornflowers, Chinese carnation, snapdragon, cosmos.

It is better to sprinkle the seeds with snow on top so that the wind does not scatter them around the area.

Sowing crops before winter has its advantages. In this case, the plants grow more resilient, get sick less often, produce more harvest and are not so much affected by pests.
