There are a number of things that should not be neglected before the onset of cold weather.

What needs to be done on the site in October
Before the cold weather sets in, you need to do the final pruning of fruit trees and shrubs. It is recommended to get rid of all damaged and dried branches.
It is also worth getting rid of those plants that no longer produce crops due to their age without regret.
The next step is to remove leaves from the area. Keep in mind that if the leaves are collected under trees affected by diseases or pests, it is unacceptable to use them as mulch.
Two more important things to do are to dig up the soil and add fertilizers. The latter is recommended to be 2 tablespoons of superphosphate and 1 tablespoon of potassium sulfate per 1 square meter of the garden.
