And if you add nutrients correctly, then your plants will delight you with large and deliciously sweet berries.

How to feed strawberries in spring
Strawberries are fed several times: immediately after the snow melts, during the formation of buds and during the formation of ovaries.
Each period requires the application of different fertilizers, as well as care of the bushes.
During the first feeding in March, it is important to remove old and dried leaves, and also trim off excess tendrils. The mulch is removed, the soil is loosened and nitrogen-based fertilizers are added so that the strawberry plant increases its vegetative mass.
During the second feeding, strawberries need potassium, which they can get from purchased fertilizers or from improvised means:
- mixtures of compost and wood ash;
- a mix of mown dandelions, nettles and other weeds.
And the last step on the way to getting a choice harvest is adding boron during flowering, which stimulates fruit growth. To do this, buy boric acid in powder, dilute it in water and apply it early in the morning or late in the evening: this will help avoid sunburn.
