Expert of the online publication TUT NOVOSTI, agronomist Anastasia Kovrizhnykh told what to do if a rose has rotted after winter.

Where to start

Immediately after removing the cover, there is no need to rush to save the rose. The cover must be removed systematically. Full disclosure and a sharp change in temperature will only worsen the situation.

When the plant is seriously damaged, it will have to be removed. It will not be possible to save such a rose. To understand this, you need to shake the bush.

If the roots have rotted, the plant itself will actually fall out of the soil. There is a chance when the bush is firmly "sitting" in the ground.

Trimming

It is necessary to cut off the dead parts. Trimming is carried out to living tissue. The stems on the cut should be white or green, but not brown.

The cut areas should be treated with ash or a special agent.

Growth stimulator

After pruning, it is necessary to apply a growth stimulator. It is used strictly according to the instructions.

Watering is necessary if the soil is dry. In this case, a bucket of water per plant.
