Remove These Trees From Your Plot: They Can Destroy Your Entire House – 4 Foundation “Killers”

The strong root system of trees can threaten the integrity of the foundation of the house.

And it's hard to call a house immersed in the forest a dream. There are more problems than beauty here.

Just think about the concern that arises for the integrity of the roof during strong winds or a hurricane.

There is also less obvious harm that does not manifest itself for many years. A powerful root system can "undermine" the foundation of a building for a long time.

There is a general recommendation that trees should be planted no closer than 5 m from the house.

In addition, there is a list of particularly dangerous trees that are not recommended to be grown on the site at all.

Birch tops this list. On the outside, everything looks idyllic, but a powerful root with a diameter of 5-6 cm can grow under the masonry and actually “grow together” with it.

The willow puts down deep roots. It can also, over time, if not destroy the foundation, but force the owners to organize unscheduled repairs.

Another dangerous neighbor for the house is the ash tree. The tree has the ability not only to break through stones (walls), but also to crawl under underground structures in search of an opportunity for further horizontal growth.

Walnut (and other types of nuts) are also not considered the best option. Powerful roots can break through the foundation or communications, destroy the paving of the house or even lift it. It is recommended to plant this tree no closer than 7 m from the building.
