The timing of planting cucumbers in May depends on the region, climate and weather conditions. In general, there are two main methods of planting: under film or in open ground.

You can plant cucumbers under film from mid-May, when frosts have passed and the soil has warmed up to 15-18 degrees.

To do this, you need to prepare the beds, make holes at a distance of 40-50 cm from each other and put 2-3 seeds in them.

Then you need to cover the beds with film or agrofibre and strengthen the edges. The film creates a greenhouse effect and promotes faster germination and growth of plants.

At the same time, you need to monitor the temperature and humidity under the film and ventilate the beds if necessary.

Cucumbers can be planted in open ground at the end of May - beginning of June, when warm and stable weather sets in.

To do this, you need to choose a sunny and wind-protected place, fertilize the soil well with compost or humus and loosen it before planting.

The seeds need to be soaked for several hours in warm water or a weak solution of potassium permanganate for disinfection and stimulation of germination.

Then you need to make holes at a distance of 50-60 cm from each other and put 2-3 seeds in them to a depth of 2-3 cm.

After planting, you need to water the beds well with warm water and cover the soil.

Caring for cucumbers consists of regular watering, weeding, loosening, fertilizing, pinching and tying.

Water cucumbers in the morning or evening with warm water, avoiding contact with the leaves. Weeding and loosening help get rid of weeds and improve oxygen access to the roots.

Fertilizing should be done once every 2 weeks using organic or mineral fertilizers.

Pinching should be done to form the bush and increase the number of ovaries. Tying should be done so that the plants do not lie on the ground and do not deteriorate.

By following these simple rules, you can grow healthy and tasty cucumbers in your garden.

To do this, it is important to observe the timing and methods of planting, as well as to properly care for the plants.

Cucumbers are a heat-loving crop, so they need sufficient light, heat, moisture and nutrition.
