With the arrival of warm weather, it is time to think about fertilizing winter garlic.

If everything is done correctly, the plants will not turn yellow and will delight you with an impressive harvest.

Expert of the online publication TUT NOVOSTI, agronomist Anastasia Kovrizhnykh told what can be used in this case.

First feeding

It is carried out in the phase of 3-4 feathers. During this period, the emphasis shifts to nitrogen fertilizers. Herbal infusion or mullein infusion (1:10) are suitable as top dressing.

Alternatively, you can use urea. The consumption rate is 3 liters of working solution per 1 sq. m of plantings.

Second feeding

It is carried out two to three weeks after the first feeding. Here, not only nitrogen is important.

A complex composition is used. It should contain not only nitrogen, but also potassium and phosphorus. These two elements are responsible for the formation of large heads.

Winter garlic can be fed with nitrophoska or nitroammophoska. It is necessary to dilute 2 tbsp. per 10 l of water.

The product is applied under the root at a rate of 3-4 liters per 1 sq. m.

Alternatively, you can use wood ash. It is scattered over the soil surface or an ash infusion is used.

Previously, we talked about the cases in which ash can harm plants.
