Caring for clematis in summer
The first thing you need to pay attention to in the summer is watering the liana. Flowers need to be watered at least twice a week, and in hot weather this needs to be done more often.
Clematis is a water-drinking plant, it requires at least 3-4 liters of water for each vine. Moreover, the plant should never be watered with cold water, otherwise it will get sick.
During the summer, clematis needs to be fed at least twice:
- nitrogen is applied at the end of June;
- Potassium-phosphorus fertilizers are applied in mid-July.
Another important point is that clematis needs to be tied up. To do this, the stem is securely fixed at a height of 15-20 centimeters so that it does not break under its own weight or under the pressure of the wind.
