To grow tasty and juicy tomatoes, you need to put in a lot of effort.
However, sometimes summer residents make certain mistakes that ultimately ruin the harvest.
Agronomist Anastasia Kovrizhnykh explained what mistakes should be avoided when growing these plants.
The rule “the more, the better” definitely doesn’t work when it comes to feeding tomatoes.
Moreover, it will lead to a completely opposite effect.
If there is too much fertilizer, plants will have difficulty absorbing certain nutrients, including calcium.
As a result, the plant's roots may become weakened, which may cause rot on the tomatoes.
Watering should be abundant after planting the seedlings in the ground.
But in the future, plants should be watered moderately. After all, abundant moisture can also be harmful.
It can suppress flower development and cause active growth.
Also, when watering, it is undesirable to add various impurities to the water, including iron. This has a negative effect on the absorption of nutrients by the plant.
However, due to irregular watering and heat, tomatoes may be more susceptible to various diseases.
Not all folk remedies are equally useful for plants. The same applies to boric acid.
If used too often, the balance of substances may be disturbed.
Because of this, the plant will be susceptible to late blight.
