Not all summer residents and flower growers know that eggshells, which are inconspicuous at first glance, can become an excellent fertilizer for a vegetable garden or indoor plants.

You just need to collect a sufficient amount of this raw material and properly prepare the nutrient solution.

Eggshells are used to make fertilizer that contains calcium, potassium, iron, phosphorus, and sulfur, says Anastasia Kovrizhnykh, an expert at the online publication TUT NOVOSTI and agronomist.

How to prepare fertilizer

You need to prepare the waste from 5-10 eggs. The shell should be poured with a liter of water and infused for 10-15 days.

Two signs of readiness: the liquid has become cloudy and a specific smell of hydrogen sulfide has appeared.

The solution should be diluted with water in a ratio of 1:10. But first, the plants should be watered with regular water so that the fertilizer can work more effectively.

The fertilizer is suitable for garden and vegetable plants, as well as for indoor flowers.
