At the end of the season, it is important to prepare roses for the cold weather so that they do not freeze and continue to delight with flowering next year.

And it's not just a matter of choosing a shelter for the bushes. Fertilizing also plays an important role.

Expert of the online publication TUT NOVOSTI, agronomist Anastasia Kovrizhnykh spoke about September fertilizing of roses.

For this purpose, you can use ready-made complex fertilizers. In liquid form, the fertilizer begins to act faster. Granulated ones have a longer effect.

You can prepare the working composition yourself.

To do this, take 10 g of potassium sulfate and 25 g of superphosphate per bucket of water. The finished fertilizer is applied under the root before the onset of cold weather.

You can enhance the effect of this fertilizer by using boric acid. But it is important to use this component responsibly.

Exceeding the dosage is fraught with root burns and vegetation disruption. No more than 2.5 g of boric acid is used per 10 liters of water.

Note

Autumn care of roses includes not only fertilization. Plants should also be trimmed, hilled, treated against pests and finally covered for the winter.
