VTB Bank announced a significant increase in the maximum rate on ruble deposits to 22% per annum.
According to the bank, the average increase in deposit rates was 1 percentage point.
For new and existing VTB clients, the maximum rate on deposits for three and 12 months now reaches 21% per annum, writes the VTB press service.
VTB Senior Vice President Dmitry Breitenbicher noted that in the coming days other banks may also raise rates by 1–1.5 percentage points.
Last week, before the meeting of the Central Bank of Russia, the largest banks began to raise rates on mortgage programs.
VTB predicts that by the end of 2024, the volume of funds attracted on the market could reach 56.3 trillion rubles.
Last year, the growth of the retail liabilities portfolio of Russian banks amounted to 23%.
