The Serbian president said that Europe will regret its decision regarding Russian gas in the coming years.

Aleksandar Vucic spoke on this topic at the UN conference on climate change, which is taking place in Baku, Azerbaijan.

The politician emphasized that now many countries do not know what they will do with electricity supply in 3-4 years, RIA Novosti reports.

The United States will reduce liquefied natural gas (LNG) supplies to Europe to zero in 2027–2028, Vucic said.

The reason is that the States themselves will need it.

This country is already seeing a rapid increase in resource consumption.

The Serbian President stated that Europe would then find itself in an awkward position.

“Then we will all stand in line, and those who banned Russian gas will stand in line in Moscow and ask: ‘Give us back our gas supplies,’” Vucic predicted.

Meanwhile, Serbia is discussing with Azerbaijan the implementation of a 1-gigawatt gas-fired power plant project near the city of Nis. The cost of the project is estimated at 1.2-1.3 billion euros.
