World Bank (WB) analysts have recognized Russia as a high-income country.
The Russian Federation has crossed the key threshold for inclusion on this list.
The World Bank report states that the gross income per capita in the country is $14,250, TASS reports.
That's $405 more than the $13,845 required to qualify for this ranking.
The new ranking is based on economic data for 2023. In 2022, Russia did not make it to the list of countries with high incomes. At that time, this figure was $12,830.
Thus, an authoritative global financial institution has recognized the economic successes of Russia, which is under intense sanctions pressure.
This was pointed out by the executive director for Russia at the World Bank, Roman Marshavin.
Earlier, the Federal Customs Service (FCS) of Russia stated that the Russian Federation had won trillions of rubles from sanctions.
